65-Year-Old Defendant Charged with Murder
A Baltimore man has been formally charged with the death of his adult daughter, whose dismembered body was found in a shopping cart near a Northwest Baltimore dumpster in May, 2019. The defendant, who was already in custody awaiting trial on firearms charges, has two prior murder convictions, including the shooting death of his son.
Police say they were called to the site where the body was located on May 12 by residents, who say they heard arguing near the dumpster on May 10. Police obtained video camera footage that showed the defendant pushing a shopping cart into the lot where the dumpster was located. They used tattoos to identify the body and then obtained a search warrant for the defendant’s apartment, where they found additional evidence linking him to the murder.

Law enforcement officers in Anne Arundel County apprehended a 32-year-old Middle River man on New Year’s Day after he unsuccessfully tried to car-jack a vehicle in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Glen Burnie. An employee of the convenience store told officers that the man had just robbed the store at gunpoint. Witnesses say the man left the 7-Eleven and stopped a motorist in the parking lot, threatening to shoot him if he didn’t give him a ride. The motorist refused and the suspect fled. Officers caught him nearby.
A 17-year-old male was slain shortly after 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve near the 4500 block of Green Rose Lane, bringing Baltimore’s homicide total for 2018 to 309. Though that’s a drop from 2017, when 343 were killed, it’s the fourth year in a row that the number of violent deaths has exceeded 300. Police say they were called to investigate a reported shooting and found the teen, who died on the scene.

It’s one of those stories you just can’t make up—a New Jersey man, who set out to frame his ex-girlfriend’s new beau by sending phony bomb threats to a police department, not only failed with his efforts, but apparently sent his fake threats to the wrong police department.

Authorities say they have video footage of a daycare worker violently snatching the child from a crib, slapping at the child and stuffing pillows over the child’s face. Baltimore police were called to the daycare facility in late May when other care workers found the child to be unresponsive. Initially, the woman charged with the child’s care said that she had fed the girl, wrapped her in a blanket and put her down for a nap. After watching footage collected from video cameras at the facility, police arrested the daycare worker, charging her with first and second degree murder, first and second degree
